Job Title: Business Development Sr. Manager, MLS
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a passionate, innovative, and driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our Major League Soccer (MLS) portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the sports industry, combined with excellent client relationship skills and a strong understanding of market trends. This individual will play a key role in advancing unified ticketing strategies and delivering impactful results for our MLS partners. This role reports direct to the Chief Commercial Officer.
What would you do?
New Business Development
Identify, evaluate, and pursue potential business opportunities within the MLS market.
Create a long-term vision that can be executed over the next 3 years to grow the Eventellect brand within MLS
Research and target new clients, partnerships, and growth areas within MLS.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with existing MLS clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Develop and implement unified ticketing strategies tailored to MLS partners, providing actionable insights and detailed market analysis.
Market Analysis and Strategy
Stay informed on industry trends, MLS market dynamics, and the competitive landscape.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs and inform business decisions.
Proposal Development and Presentation
Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients, showcasing Eventellect’s value proposition.
Present analysis and recommendations to internal executives and stakeholders.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Product, and Client Services, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions to MLS clients.
Reporting and Analytics
Monitor and analyze performance metrics, providing data-driven insights to guide strategies and assess business development efforts.
What is required to succeed?
Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent required; advanced degrees (MBA or related) are a plus.
Proven experience in business development, sales, or ticketing, ideally within the sports industry.
Knowledge of and passion for Major League Soccer is a strong plus.
Strong network and existing relationships within the sports industry are a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ticketing systems and data visualization tools is a plus.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time and work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Willingness to relocate to Houston, TX.
